While the prong collar looks more aggressive than an old fashioned choker collar, the complete opposite is true.
The prong collar, when fit properly, (high on the neck and not overly loose) will activate pressure points around your dog's neck and allow them to feel even the smallest of directional corrections.
While the "Old Choker" collars do exactly what they are named, choke your dog, the prong collar does not restrict the airway and has no effect on the trachea.
