MEET THE EPIC TERMINAL COPPER PELLET
Copper King isn't simply another round copper pellet.
EPIC developed its Terminal Copper Pellet with several features designed specifically around terminal performance and pattern consistency.
ULTRA-POLISHED 99.9% COPPER
EPIC Copper King starts with an ultra-polished 99.9% copper pellet.
The smooth, consistent exterior is designed to promote stable flight and help produce tight, repeatable patterns.
BALLISTIC SATURN CUTTING RING
Encircling the pellet is EPIC's Ballistic Saturn Cutting Ring, also referred to as the Razor Ring/Razor Edge.
Rather than using a completely smooth spherical surface, the ring creates a defined edge around the circumference of the pellet.
The feature is designed to increase cutting action on contact and contribute to the terminal characteristics of the Copper King pellet.
DUAL DEAD ZONES
Copper King also incorporates EPIC's Dual Dead Zones, positioned at the top and bottom of the pellet.
These features are designed to work with the Ballistic Saturn Cutting Ring as part of the overall Terminal Copper Pellet design and its energy-transfer characteristics.
HARDER THAN BISMUTH
Copper provides substantially different physical characteristics from Bismuth.
Its greater toughness helps the pellet resist the fragmentation that can occur with more brittle shot materials, allowing Copper King pellets to maintain their integrity during firing and impact.
Copper King is designed as a barrel-safe shotshell system when used in an appropriate firearm, with EPIC's TRUE Magnum Wad providing additional payload control and barrel protection.
HIGHER PELLET COUNT THAN BISMUTH
One of Copper King's biggest advantages is pellet count.
At equivalent payload weights and comparable shot sizes, the lower density of copper relative to Bismuth means more individual copper pellets can fit within the same payload weight.
More pellets give the load additional opportunities to build a dense, evenly distributed pattern.
That becomes especially important when developing a 20-gauge load where payload efficiency matters.
DESIGNED FOR GREATER PENETRATION THAN STEEL
Copper King's combination of pellet construction, hardness, density and velocity is designed to provide greater penetration than comparable steel pellets while maintaining the high pellet counts hunters expect from modern non-toxic ammunition.
At 1,450 FPS, the 1 1/8 oz payload provides an excellent combination of speed, pellet count and downrange performance.
EPIC TRUE MAGNUM WAD
At the heart of the complete load is EPIC's TRUE Magnum Wad.
The wad is paired specifically with the 1 1/8 oz Copper King payload to help control and protect the shot column as it travels through the barrel.
Its purpose is to promote consistent pellet distribution, pattern density and repeatable performance from close-range opportunities through longer shots.

During EPIC testing, the 20 GA Copper King produced 96%+ patterns inside a 30" circle at 30 yards using multiple choke-tube combinations.
That's the type of pattern performance this load was developed around.

FROM THE DECOYS TO LONGER OPPORTUNITIES
Copper King was developed to provide consistent pattern performance across the changing distances encountered during a day of waterfowl hunting.
The load particularly excels across approximately the 20- to 50-yard range, combining high velocity with EPIC's TRUE Magnum Wad and Terminal Copper Pellet.
EPIC has also tested the load at distances beyond 60 yards. That testing demonstrates the extended-range patterning capabilities of the load and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed or recommended hunting distance.
Actual effective range depends on shot size, firearm, choke, pattern performance, environmental conditions and shooter ability.
LOWER PRESSURE. MANAGEABLE RECOIL.
During EPIC testing and development, this load produced chamber pressures up to 30% lower than other loads tested, while still delivering a 1 1/8 oz payload at 1,450 FPS.
The goal is to balance velocity, payload, pattern performance and manageable recoil.
Reduced barrel rise can help you recover more quickly for a follow-up shot and stay on target when multiple birds work into the spread.
